I like helping people, so to be doing such important work as a customer service operative for Millbrook is amazing.  We provide community equipment for users to help them around the home or when they’re out and about.

Our users are a pleasure to talk to.  People often thank you for your support and attitude, which is really nice.

Because of how vital our services are, you need a strong attention to detail.  By understanding the customer, you make sure they get their equipment on time at their convenience.  As a bit of added responsibility, we help plan the driver technicians’ workloads to be as efficient as possible.

We get a lot of support to ensure that we have the best systems, processes and training to make the calls go smoothly. You can study for formal qualifications as well, which Millbrook pays for.

I’ve trained as a trusted assessor, getting a qualification equivalent to GCSE level.  This gives me the skills to carry out more varied calls and recognise any concerns about users’ wellbeing.

The service centre has great facilities too.  There’s free parking, but as we’re based in town I can walk in.

We work Saturdays on a rota system, which isn’t so bad as you get a day off in the week or can use it as overtime.

It’s a really fulfilling role and I’ve learnt a lot of new skills.  I hope you’ve found it helpful to know a bit more about it before applying.
