Accessing our HIA services

In most cases you will be referred to us via the NHS, your local authority or social care.

An experienced technical caseworker will discuss with you how we can adapt your home to support your independence and agree plans for any changes and installations. Then, a fully trained and qualified technician will install bespoke minor adaptations (steps, ramps, rails) at a time convenient to you.

For major adaptations, such as house extensions and installing new accessible bathrooms, your dedicated case worker will manage the works and provide support.

All handyperson services will be completed by an experienced handyperson.

We're here to support you

We can offer you support in a number of ways:

  • Helping you settle back into your home after time spent in hospital or a care setting.
  • Providing a caseworker to help you get a grant or equity release.
  • Helping with your Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) application, including designing a schedule of works, appointing contractors and managing works until completion.

To discuss the options available to you, contact your local HIA.

Self-funded home adaptations

Private works

We recognise that some customers will not qualify for Local Authority funded grants and may wish to follow the self-funded path for home adaptations. Therefore, to ensure we support everyone with their desire to stay in the home for longer, we also offer a self-pay service for home adaptations from our Adaptive Home Solutions (AHS) service.
